‘Igbo are not marginalized by Buhari’

A CHIFTAIN of the ruling All Progrssive Congresss [APC] in Abia State, Dr. Ephraim Iroakazi has come in defence of President Muhammadu Buhari on the allegation that he has marginalized Igbo people, saying that the President has so far given Ndigbo what was due to them.
Speaking to reporters in Umuahia, he said that President Buhari has not in any way sidelined Igbos so far.
He said it was defeatist of the South East people to always cry of marginalization when they always have the opportunity to get the best in Governments.
Iroakazi noted that the cry of marginalization by Ndigbo did not start today, saying that even in Shagari era when an Igbo man was the Vice President, they still cried of marginalization.
According to him, instead of cry of marginalization all the time, Ndigbo should always study the political terrain very well and properly align themselves to be able to be in the mainstream.
“President Buhari has not marginalized the South East zone in any way. He is not in office to find job for the boys but to put things in order. He came in at a time things are very bad and he is taking his time to rebuild.
“Buhari has not sidelined the South East in any way. That statement is defeatist. Even right from the Shagari era Ndigbo had always shouted of marginalization.
I think it is time Ndigbo should think of what they would get in politics and out of politics by calculating well before choice of the political parties before election rather crying fowl after elections.
“Buhari has not marginalized the South East. He got ministers from every state, the South East states inclusive”, Iroakazi said.
The APC chieftain also praised the President’s anti-corruption war, saying that it was not a surprise that PDP members have been lamenting which he said was corruption trying to fight back.
He also expressed the hope that APC would take over the governance of Abia State in the future.
